Los Angeles Consortium of Online Travel June Event Recap

Summertime, for travelers and travel writers, brings on a heightened level of distraction. This is the peak season for being away from our desks, after all. last month, the Los Angeles Consortium of Online Travel (LACOT) and We Said Go Travel joined forces to throw a fundraiser (and it’s only now that we can recap the event). The fundraiser and raffle for Caine’s Arcade Foundation was a big success, thanks in no small part to the generosity of the Hyatt Century Plaza’s Xbar. Thank you, Xbar, for opening up your space to the Los Angeles Consortium of Online Travel and our merry crew. Everyone had a fun time hanging out, and it was lovely to get to know local travel and tourism folk better. Lisa and George from We Said Go Travel have left for their year-long SE Asia travels, and it was nice to give them a proper send-off at this Los Angeles event as well. Their videographer put together this video.

Sure, it’s a long video; hopefully casual viewing elucidates the mix of fun, conversation, and do-goodism fundraising that marked the night’s event. Of course, all of the LACOT meetups are fun, but it’s nice to know that we do our part to try to make Los Angeles a better place while we’re at it. Hope to see you at the next LACOT event!
